The unraveling of the bloody brawl in Kallithea continues, with a young boy as the victim.

New information is coming to light regarding the fatal brawl in Kallithea, where a 17-year-old confessed that he stabbed a 15-year-old.

A total of 17 individuals involved in the incident have been identified, seven have been arrested, and ten more are still being sought.

The individuals involved, all minors, were mostly supporters of Olympiacos, although there were also supporters of other teams. Some of those involved claimed that the incident was a response to an earlier attack on their 16-year-old friend, an AEK supporter, who had been stabbed in the leg two days earlier.

However, the other group, which included the 15-year-old victim and came from Kifisia, states that everything began when the local group started harassing them and telling them to leave the area of Agia Eleousa in Kallithea because they were not locals.

The three individuals who were initially attacked by the Kallithea group called additional friends, five people in total, who arrived at the scene by car. Three of them have been arrested, while two are still being sought.

The perpetrator claimed that the victim first attacked him with a knife, and he then pulled out his own knife and struck him in the chest first.

The knife used by the perpetrator was thrown into a bin and has not yet been found, while the knife recovered at the scene and sent for forensic analysis has not yet been attributed to anyone; it is believed it may have belonged to the victim.

Charges are being filed against those arrested, and they are expected to be brought before the competent prosecutor. The indictment will also include hooliganism-related offences due to claims by some of the accused regarding the 16-year-old AEK supporter; however, the investigation suggests that the motives were related to the fact that one group was local and the other was not, and therefore, according to their reasoning, they had no right to be in the area.

Arrest of the victim together with the son of a former MP

The victim was identified through fingerprinting, as it emerged that he had a criminal record and had been arrested twice for illegal possession of weapons.

The most recent incident was on 12 June, a few days before his death, in the area of Nea Erythraia, where he was found carrying a knife while inside a car driven by the son of a former MP. A collapsible baton was also found in the vehicle.

A year earlier, the 15-year-old had been arrested again after a brass knuckle was found in his possession. The victim was a child of divorced parents, lived with his mother, and came from a financially well-off background.

When his parents were informed of the incident, there were tragic scenes at the police station, as they themselves could not believe what had happened and the manner in which it occurred.

Charges against the accused

It is noted that the prosecutor has filed criminal charges against them, depending on the case, for the following offences, which are alleged to have been committed with aggravating circumstances related to an athletic/hooligan context:

Intentional homicide
Participation in a brawl involving the use of weapons resulting in death and serious bodily harm
Dangerous bodily harm committed jointly and repeatedly
