Eleni Karageorgopoulou announced her decision to become independent from the Parliamentary Group of Plefsi Eleftherias.

Eleni Karageorgopoulou made known her independence from the Parliamentary Group of Course of Freedom.

It is recalled that, following the most recent resignation of Diamantis Karanastasis, the party, apart from its president Zoe Konstantopoulou, is left with Spyros Bibilas, Alexandros Kazamias, Tzortzia Kefala and Elli Roussou, now numbering five MPs in total.

According to the Rules of Procedure of the Hellenic Parliament, Course of Freedom is not dissolved, as it retains the minimum required number of MPs to continue operating as a Parliamentary Group. It is recalled that Eleni Karageorgopoulou had been elected in the East Attica A constituency.

In the coming hours, her letter of resignation is expected, in which she will set out the reasons for her departure from Zoe Konstantopoulou’s party, a move that in any case is causing a stir internally within the party.

So far, there has been no reaction from the party president.
