Criminal prosecution against the drivers who fought on Acharnon Street over an overtaking manoeuvre.

Criminal charges were brought against the drivers involved in a fight over an overtaking manoeuvre on Acharnon Street.

A delivery driver has been prosecuted on felony charges for grievous intentional bodily harm and has been referred to a regular investigating judge.

The 70-year-old driver, who is hospitalised as a result of the blows he received, has been charged with misdemeanour offences of dangerous bodily harm, unlawful possession of a weapon and use of a weapon.

The moment they came to blows – “You tried to kill me”

According to information and video footage obtained by ERTnews, a 51-year-old delivery driver riding a motorcycle and a 70-year-old car driver were involved in the incident.

It appears that the two men argued over right of way on the road.

In the video, the younger man can be heard shouting at the elderly driver, “You tried to kill me,” while shortly afterwards he is seen stopping his motorcycle on Acharnon Street and checking his left arm.

According to police sources, he had previously been stabbed in the left hand. Fortunately, the injury was not serious.

A scuffle followed, with the two men coming to blows and exchanging punches.
