The forensic expert concluded that the victim was in the final stage of liver cirrhosis, which led to her death. He also found that she had received numerous blows, both recent and older, but these did not cause internal bleeding and therefore were not responsible for her death.

Following the latest developments, it is expected that the 38-year-old husband will be charged for assault and causing bodily harm to his wife.

However, it was not these injuries that led to her death, and the charge of manslaughter may be considered as negligence. The forensic report concluded that the cause of death was terminal liver cirrhosis, which the couple had mistaken for pregnancy, never seeking medical help.

Her abdomen was filled with fluid (ascites), and the bloating made it appear as if she were pregnant.

The forensic expert also observed many injuries to the victim, both recent and old. For example, her left eye was swollen from an older injury and had received a recent blow. However, none of the injuries, as the forensic expert concluded, caused internal bleeding, and thus were not responsible for her death.

Due to the couple’s history of substance abuse, the forensic expert took samples for toxicological and histological tests. The prosecutor will be informed about the new findings from the forensic expert.
