Thessaloniki: Heavy fine for 62-Year-Old who abandoned two puppies

A 62-year-old man in Thessaloniki has been fined over 65,000 euros for abandoning two puppies in Asprovalta.

The man is said to have abandoned the two puppies last month in an area near Asprovalta, outside Thessaloniki.
After identifying the man’s details, police from the Volvi Police Department filed a case against him for violating animal protection laws, and imposed five administrative violations totaling 65,300 euros.
The puppies, approximately one month old, were collected and the necessary procedures were initiated. The case will be submitted to the competent prosecutor’s office.
