Storm Erminio: New emergency bulletin from the National Meteorological Service – Areas to be hit

The National Meteorological Service (EMY) has updated its emergency bulletin on hazardous weather phenomena regarding storm Erminio, highlighting the most affected areas.

A new emergency weather warning has been issued by EMY ahead of storm Erminio, which is expected to impact Greece over the next 48 hours.

According to the updated bulletin, the severe weather is forecast to affect most parts of the country on Wednesday (01/04) and Thursday (02/04), bringing prolonged and intense rainfall, thunderstorms, and possibly local hailstorms.

On Wednesday, eastern regions will experience easterly to southeasterly winds of 7 to 9 Beaufort, locally reaching up to 10 Beaufort in the Dodecanese.

Heavy snowfall is expected on Wednesday in the mountainous areas of Epirus and Macedonia.

Heavy rain and storms are forecast as follows:

Wednesday (01-04-26)

a. Ionian islands from the early morning hours and southwestern Peloponnese from midday (orange warning).

b. Eastern Peloponnese from late morning until late at night (red warning).

c. Eastern Central Greece, Evia, Thessaly, and the Sporades from midday until late at night (red warning).

d. Pieria from midday until the evening (orange warning).

e. Attica from midday until late at night (red warning).

f. Northern Cyclades from the afternoon until late at night (orange warning).

g. Eastern Aegean islands from late afternoon until late at night (orange warning).

h. Dodecanese from the afternoon (red warning).

i. Eastern Crete during the afternoon and evening hours (orange warning).

Thursday (02-04-26)

a. Western and southern Peloponnese from the morning until late at night (red warning).

b. Eastern Thessaly (regional units of Larissa and Magnesia, including the Sporades) from early hours until midday (orange warning).

c. Central Macedonia (Pieria, Imathia, Chalkidiki, and Serres) from the morning until late afternoon (orange warning).

d. Crete (mainly western and southern parts) from midday until late at night (red warning).

e. Eastern Aegean islands from late afternoon (orange warning).

f. Dodecanese in the early hours of the day (red warning) and again from late afternoon (orange warning).
