A fatal workplace accident took place on Monday morning (18/5) on Ilias Zervou Street in Patissia, resulting in the death of a 52-year-old employee of HEDNO (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator).
According to reports, the 52-year-old worker, who was carrying out maintenance operations at the site, was found charred following an explosion that occurred during the works.
He was subsequently transferred to the Red Cross Hospital, where his death was confirmed.
Authorities are investigating the causes of the tragedy.
