New developments are being added to the case of the murder of a mother and son in Aigio, following the completion of part of the toxicology tests on the Italian man.

New evidence is being brought to light through the toxicology tests of the Italian man accused of the double murder in Aigio in the early hours of Tuesday (9/06), involving a mother and her son as victims.

According to reports by ERT, traces of cannabis and sleeping pills were found in the suspect’s system, a finding which appears to support the Italian man’s claims that he was asleep and did not hear or perceive what happened.

At the same time, investigations by the authorities, as well as the collection of supplementary testimonies, continue in all directions with the aim of fully solving the case.

At the same time, new evidence is coming to light from the authorities’ investigations, as Live News revealed that DNA belonging to the 54-year-old woman was detected on the trigger of the weapon.

It is noted that the Italian man has claimed it is possible that the mother and son killed each other, as they reportedly had frequent arguments and disputes.

The friend of the 65-year-old, who had arrived at the bloodstained detached house before the police, had stated that the 65-year-old Italian had taken care to make the murder weapon operational.

On Friday morning (26/6), the key witness was called in for supplementary testimony. Authorities have from the outset considered that the friend of the Italian suspect is not involved in the double murder. As he himself has stated, he was in Aigio that morning for medical tests at a microbiology laboratory.

Regarding the images he saw in the house, he has spoken to the authorities from the very beginning. Police excluded from the outset the involvement of a third person in the crime. On the night of the murder, surveillance cameras showed that no one other than the residents entered the house.

Genetic material and fingerprints of the Italian suspect were not found on any of the exhibits collected and examined by the authorities.

The authorities are focusing on the reasons why the 26-year-old victim had returned from Germany, as well as on the suspect’s references to alleged mental health issues within the household.

At the same time, the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.) is focusing its attention on the robotic vacuum cleaner that was inside the house where the victims of the double murder lived, in an effort to determine whether it was activated manually or via mobile phone after the murder, in order for the 65-year-old suspect to clean the crime scene.

He and his lawyers insist that not only did he not harm his partner and her son, but that he had consistently been by their side over time, as they claim. They deny that there were any financial disputes between them.

The Italian suspect remains, for the authorities, the main suspect in the double murder. In the coming days, however, either the initial suspicions will be confirmed or the case, which has turned into a thriller, will be completely overturned.
