The factory in Aigaleo was engulfed in flames, and during the firefighting operation a section of the building’s roof collapsed.
The fire that broke out at midday on Tuesday (23/6) in a plastics and paper factory on Orfeos Street in Aigaleo is still raging.
Shortly after 16:00, during the firefighting operation, a section of the building’s roof collapsed.
At the time of the collapse, according to ERT, firefighters were inside the building attempting to contain the fire; however, no injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, thick black smoke has covered the area, creating a suffocating atmosphere. The intensity of the smoke is so strong that in some locations visibility is extremely limited, even at a short distance from the building.
