A highly dark and complex case is unfolding regarding the disappearance of 43-year-old Eleftheria Giakoumaki, a mother of three in Crete, who has been missing since the morning of Sunday, April 19. The investigation by authorities is intensifying, while new developments have further complicated the case after the body of her 39-year-old former partner was found in the Heraklion area.
According to ERT, his lifeless body was discovered by his brother, while strong police forces and a forensic examiner immediately arrived at the scene. Authorities are now directly linking his death, which is attributed to suicide, with the woman’s disappearance, as she has been missing since Sunday morning.

The 43-year-old mother of three left her home in Dafnes, leaving behind a note stating “I am leaving and will be back shortly,” but she has not been heard from since. Her car remains missing, while searches are focused on the wider areas of Profitis Ilias and Mount Juktas.
Her last known mobile phone signal was traced to a cell tower on the summit of Mount Juktas, which covers a wide area of approximately 10 kilometers. The search operation by police and fire services continues at full intensity in the mountainous and rural zones, with concern about her fate reaching a peak after today’s tragic development.
Authorities are now working along two main lines: first, to clarify the circumstances of the man’s death, and second, to locate the woman, as anxiety grows over her whereabouts. The next hours are considered critical, as new evidence, including mobile phone data, is being examined in an effort to shed light on the fate of the 43-year-old.
