Golden Dawn: Conviction for all defendants decided by the Court of Appeals

The Court of Appeals convicted all the defendants in the Golden Dawn trial, just as in the first instance.

The Five-Member Court of Appeals for Felonies, after a long process that began five years ago, reached its verdict, convicting all 42 defendants, as it did initially.

Fully adopting the prosecutor’s proposal, the court convicted the defendants for various crimes, including participation and leadership in a criminal organization, premeditated murder, weapon possession, and other related offenses.

Maggda Fyssa was present in the courtroom, while in the dock to hear the verdict were the imprisoned Ioannis Lagos and Ilias Kasidiaris, with the remaining defendants represented by lawyers. The court accepted the mitigating circumstances that had been acknowledged by the court in the first instance.

Convicted for Leading a Criminal Organization

The following individuals were convicted for leading a criminal organization: Nikos Michaloliakos, Ilias Kasidiaris, Ioannis Lagos, Christos Pappas, Ilias Panagiotaros, Giorgos Germenis, and Artemis Matthaiopoulos.

Convicted for Participation

The following 11 former MPs were convicted for participating in the organization: Antonios Gregos, Eleni Zaroulia, Polyvios Zisimopoulos, Panagiotis Iliopoulos, Nikos Kouzilos, Dimitris Koukoutsis, Nikos Michos, Konstantinos Barbarousis, Stathis Boukouras, Chryso Valantis Alexopoulos, and Michalis Arvanitis.

Among the other convicted participants were Giorgos Roupakias, the murderer of Pavlos Fyssas, Perama branch leader Anastasios Pantazis, and Nikaia branch leader Giorgos Patelis.

Fyssas’ Murder

Regarding the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, the court convicted, as in the first instance, Giorgos Roupakias as the direct perpetrator of the murder and for his participation in a criminal organization. The charges of illegal weapon possession, carrying, and use have expired, which were initially held against him.

Similarly, the following 15 defendants were convicted for complicity in murder: Ioannis Aggos, Marios Anadiotis, Giorgos Dimou, Ioannis Kazatzoglou, Elpidoforos Kalarrytikos, Ioannis Komianos, Konstantinos Korkovilis, Anastasios Michalaros, Giorgos Patelis, Giorgos Skalkos, Giorgos Stambelos, Leontas Tsalikis, Nikolaos Tsorvas.

Attack on Egyptian Fishermen

Regarding the attack on Egyptian fishermen in Keratsini, the following five defendants were convicted: Dimitris Agriogiannis, Markos Evgenikos, Thomas Marias, Anastasios Pantazis, Konstantinos Papadopoulos.
