The actress Jenny Zacharopoulou breathed her last at the age of 85 in the early hours of Thursday (2/7) at the “Sotiria” hospital, where she had been hospitalized in recent days.
The actress had left her mark during the golden era of Greek cinema with important roles.
Who Jenny Zacharopoulou was
She was born in 1941 in Lefkada. She graduated from the Katselis School and then toured the world with Dimitris Rontiris for three years performing classical repertoire. Immediately afterwards, her collaboration with Aliki Vougiouklaki and Dimitris Papamichael made her widely known to the public.
She appeared in television series that were milestones in Greek television such as “Gougkerman”, “Pantheoi”, “I geitonia mas” (“Our Neighborhood”), and “Oi frouroi tis Achaïas”.
She also starred in films including: “I Leoforos Tou Misous” (1968), “Pethaino Kathe Ximeroma” (1969), “Oratotis Miden” (1970), “Ena Asteio Koritsi” (1970), “S’ Agapo” (1971), “I Kori Tou Iliou” (1971), “Kai xana pros ti doxa trava” (1980), “Trokonomos… Varvara” (1981), “Thanasis, o aisiodoxos” (1989), “Kokkino triantafyllo sou ekopsa” (1993).
