Timeline of Events

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon (April 25th) on Aristoxenus Street in Pangrati, when the 22-year-old car driver was attacked by the 59-year-old motorcyclist.

The 59-year-old believed that the young woman was blocking him while parking her car. After initially verbally attacking her, he then punched and shoved her, forcefully throwing her to the ground, which caused her leg to break.

After committing the act, he fled the scene, but he was identified. The perpetrator had been hiding, and despite police searches, his arrest was not possible under the flag of immediate arrest.

The 22-year-old was taken to the “Red Cross” Hospital, as she had suffered facial injuries and a leg fracture.

“I Fell Down and He Started Kicking Me,” Says the 22-Year-Old Woman Who Was Attacked

The 22-year-old car driver described her ordeal on MEGA:

“My friend lives in Pangrati and told me, ‘I found a spot, just under the house, about fifty meters away’. I was about one hundred meters away, less than one hundred meters. I drove there, and as I was parking, this man came out from the building. I had parked my car and momentarily blocked his motorcycle, as I needed to park,” said the 22-year-old.

According to her, things quickly escalated dangerously, as the motorcyclist began to insult her, thinking that she was blocking him from leaving the spot.

“He basically turned to me and said, ‘Come on, get up and move,’ and ‘What are you doing.’ In one minute, he lost his temper. He started insulting me with the most vulgar language, swearing at my mother, cursing… everything you can imagine, it was awful. And since I’m a bit of a tough person, I don’t usually get scared by things like that. I guess I should start being scared,” she said.

According to the report, the woman got out of her car, but things quickly took a turn for the worse when the 59-year-old motorcyclist attacked her.

“I got out of the car… Before I could even close the door, I saw him put on his helmet. He grabbed me by the collar… He punched me in the face, and then he threw me very violently onto the car. I fell and my leg got crushed… He pushed me down so hard that my leg turned completely. I flew off… Then, when I was on the ground, he started kicking me. He was hitting me,” she explained.

“It was around three twenty in the afternoon. I never thought that in the middle of the day, with so many people around, someone would do something like this… It’s crazy,” she said.

“At that moment, when I got up, a man stepped in front of me. Thank God he did, he was very tall and strong. He stood between me and him to stop him… When he saw people starting to gather—about ten or twelve people, a lot of people, from the nearby buildings—the man looked around, took off his helmet, grabbed it in his hands, and ran into the building,” she added.
