According to the information available so far, the deaths of the two young people, who were found inside a parked car in a garage in Piraeus, are being treated as a tragic accident.
They were discovered at approximately 10:00 a.m. inside the enclosed space, and police officers and EKAB ambulance crews immediately rushed to the scene.
They were taken unconscious by ambulance to Tzaneio Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Based on the current assessment, authorities have ruled out both foul play and suicide, with all evidence pointing to an accident.
According to initial estimates, the vehicle’s engine and air conditioning system had reportedly been left running while the garage was closed.
Authorities are therefore investigating the possibility that dangerous exhaust fumes from the engine entered the passenger compartment through the air-conditioning system, causing the two young people to lose consciousness.
