Thessaloniki: 80-Year-Old Woman Found Dead at Home – Her 90-Year-Old Husband Arrested

An elderly woman was found dead inside her home in Thessaloniki with head injuries. Her 90-year-old husband, who suffers from dementia, is being treated under police guard at Papageorgiou Hospital, while authorities are investigating all possible scenarios.

Mystery surrounds the circumstances of the death of an 80-year-old woman in Chalastra, Thessaloniki, who was found dead inside her home on Saturday afternoon (October 31), with injuries to her head.
Her 90-year-old husband was arrested in connection with the case. He suffers from dementia and is being treated under police guard at Papageorgiou Hospital, as he was also found to have sustained injuries.
According to information obtained by voria.gr, the case came to light when the elderly couple’s daughter reportedly found her parents inside their home.
Emergency medical services (EKAV) were called to the scene and subsequently notified the Hellenic Police, prompting officers to respond.
Inside the house, officers found the 80-year-old woman unconscious, with injuries to her head. Her 90-year-old husband was also in the residence and had sustained injuries to his head and hands.
Due to his health condition, the elderly man has so far been unable to provide an account of what happened and of the circumstances that led to his wife’s death.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident and have yet to reach any firm conclusion as to what occurred inside the home.
As part of the investigation, all possibilities are being examined, including whether there are any signs of forced entry at the property.
