Video evidence from the traffic accident in Polichni, Thessaloniki, in which a 25-year-old lost his life has come to light.
According to footage recorded by ERT3, a car is seen speeding along Agnostou Stratioti Street in Polichni at extremely high speed. Right behind it, another car can be seen—the vehicle driven by the 27-year-old—which mounts the sidewalk.
While the two young men were walking unsuspectingly on the sidewalk, the driver of the car struck them. As a result, the 25-year-old was killed and his 24-year-old friend was taken injured to Hippokration Hospital. As shown in the video, people who were inside nearby shops rushed outside in panic to see what had happened.
Authorities are examining the possibility that the drivers of the two vehicles were street racing. As seen in the video, two cars were moving at extremely high speed along Agnostou Stratioti Street in Polichni, a fact that investigators are taking seriously during the investigation.
