Polytechnic Uprising Demonstration: Traffic Restrictions from Saturday to Tuesday

Traffic changes will be in effect in central Athens from Saturday, November 15, to Tuesday, November 18, due to events marking the 52nd anniversary of the Polytechnic Uprising.

Special traffic measures will include parking and stopping bans and road closures, implemented gradually depending on traffic conditions, from 06:00 on Saturday, November 15, until 06:00 on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Roads affected include:

• Stournari (between Exarchia Square and 3rd September Street)
• 28th October (Patision) between Kodrigktonos and El. Venizelou (Panepistimiou), both directions, and all side streets up to the first parallel
• Pedestrian streets: Tositsa and Polytechniou
• Mpotasi, Tzortz, Kaningos, Solomou, Kapodistriou, Averof, Veranzerou, Sp. Trikoupi (up to Exarchia Sq.), and others within the Exarchia-Polytechnic area
• Full restrictions also apply to Exarchia Square and adjacent streets

On Monday, November 17, from 06:00 until the end of the events, parking and traffic will be prohibited or restricted gradually on key central avenues and squares, including:

• El. Venizelou (Panepistimiou), Omonia Sq., Stadiou, Syntagma Sq.
• Vasilissis Sofias Ave. (both directions) and all side streets
• Akadimias, Alexandras, Amalias, Filellinon, Syngrou (Ath. Diakou–Amalias)
• Vasilissis Konstantinou, Ardittou, Michalakopoulou, Mesogeion, Kifisias (toward Athens)
• As well as many surrounding streets (Tsokha, Ventiri, Xenia, Char. Trikoupi, Papadiamantopoulou, etc.)

Traffic regulations will be implemented in stages, based on conditions.

According to OSY S.A. (Athens Urban Transport Organization), bus and trolley routes and stops will also be temporarily modified during this period.
