An alert was raised following reports of a gas leak at a petrol station in Piraeus. Traffic was halted and neighbouring apartment buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

Reports of a gas leak at a petrol station in Piraeus have prompted an emergency response from the authorities in recent minutes.
According to initial information, the suspected leak was reported at the junction of Omiridou-Skylitsi and Pythagora streets, while the petrol station was reportedly closed at the time.
The Fire Service and the Hellenic Police have been mobilised to halt traffic and cordon off the area.
More specifically, vehicle traffic has been suspended:
on Omiridou-Skylitsi Street from the junction with Grigoriou Lambraki Street, and
on 34th Infantry Regiment Street from the junction with Distomou Street.
At the same time, a precautionary evacuation of neighbouring apartment buildings was ordered to protect residents until inspections by the relevant crews are completed.
