A bloody domestic violence incident took place shortly after midnight in the Kavodokanos area of Lavrio, when a 32-year-old Romanian man attacked his former partner and her current partner with a knife, seriously injuring them.
According to police, the 32-year-old climbed onto the balcony of his former partner’s home and, after smashing a window with a sledgehammer, entered the house. He then attacked the 32-year-old woman and her 33-year-old partner with a knife, inflicting multiple injuries on both of them.
The 32-year-old woman suffered injuries to her back, lung and upper limbs, while the 33-year-old sustained wounds to the collarbone area, ribs and genitals.
The two injured victims were taken to Asklipieio Voula Hospital, while the 32-year-old woman was later transferred to Evangelismos Hospital due to the severity of her condition. Both are reported to be in serious condition.
Their children were present
During the incident, the two young sons of the 32-year-old woman and the 32-year-old suspect, aged 2.5 and 1.5, were inside the home.
Following the attack, the 32-year-old voluntarily went to the Lavreotiki Police Department, where he turned himself in to the authorities.
The Lavreotiki Crime Investigation and Detection Department opened a case against him for attempted murder, while a preliminary investigation is under way to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
She had reported him five times
According to the same sources, from November 27, 2025, until today, the 32-year-old woman had reported her former partner to the Lavreotiki Police Department five times for domestic threats, failure to comply with child support obligations and violation of personal data. A panic button had been installed on the 32-year-old woman’s mobile phone, and police had proposed that she be transferred to a shelter, but she had declined.
It is also noted that on September 3, 2026, the 32-year-old had been arrested in connection with a domestic threat case and for violating weapons legislation, after police said a 22-centimetre cutting tool and a rod had been found in his possession.
