Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Energy cooperation and a new trilateral summit with Cyprus were at the center of the talks.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met on Thursday (24/09) with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere, with the two leaders exchanging a warm greeting and embracing in front of the cameras.
During the meeting, Benjamin Netanyahu highlighted the importance of the strategic partnership between Greece and Israel in strengthening regional stability. He also welcomed Greece’s decision to proceed with the procurement of Israeli defence systems.
The two prime ministers also discussed regional developments, as well as further cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.
The prospect of advancing another trilateral summit between Greece, Cyprus and Israel was also at the center of the discussions, within the framework of the close cooperation between the three countries in the Eastern Mediterranean.
