Συγκλονιστικές φωτογραφίες καταγράφουν το μέγεθος της καταστροφής και την αγωνία του κόσμου μετά τα 7,1 Ρίχτερ του Εγκέλαδου στο Μεξικό που έως τώρα έχουν απολογισμό 248 νεκρούς

Τουλάχιστον 248 άνθρωποι, μεταξύ των οποίων  21 παιδιά έχασαν τη ζωή τους εξαιτίας του ισχυρού  σεισμού μεγέθους  7,1 βαθμών της κλίμακας Ρίχτερ που σφυροκόπησε την Τρίτη το κεντρικό Μεξικό, με τις προσπάθειες των σωστικών συνεργείων για την ανεύρεση αγνοούμενων να συνεχίζεται.

Χιλιάδες πολίτες βγήκαν πανικόβλητοι στους δρόμους. Εκατομμύρια πολίτες δεν έχουν ηλεκτροδότηση μετά τη σεισμική δόνηση, που σημειώθηκε στις 13:14 τοπική ώρα (21:14 ώρα Ελλάδας), σε μια περιοχή στα όρια των Πολιτειών Πουέμπλα και Μορέλος, σε βάθος 51 χλμ., σύμφωνα με το αμερικανικό γεωλογικό ινστιτούτο (USGS).

Σύμφωνα με τον δήμαρχο της Πόλης του Μεξικού Μιγκέλ Άνχελ Μανσέρα, πέραν των δεκάδων κτιρίων που κατέρρευσαν, σημειώθηκαν επίσης πολλές διαρροές αερίου και πυρκαγιές.

Ο υπουργός Εσωτερικών Μιγκέλ Άνχελ Οσόριο Τσονγκ δήλωσε σε μεξικανικό τηλεοπτικό δίκτυο ότι τα σωστικά συνεργεία δουλεύουν με μεγάλη προσοχή, χρησιμοποιώντας αξίνες και φτυάρια.
