Νew severe weather wave is about to come – Kolyda’s forecast

After a two-day improvement, conditions will deteriorate again from mid-week, according to Meteorologist Thodoris Kolydas.

In a Facebook post on Sunday afternoon, he notes that the new weather system is arriving earlier than expected, bringing widespread rainfall.

“After a two-day improvement, today’s data brings the system forward from the west between Tuesday and Wednesday. Tomorrow (01.12.2025) we will have a clearer picture of the weather’s evolution.

Otherwise, the pattern remains the same, with widespread rainfall from the middle of the week onward across most regions,” Kolydas writes.

Few clouds increasing from midday in the west and gradually across the rest of the country. Light local rain in the mountainous areas of Crete.

Morning and evening visibility will be locally limited, especially over the mainland.

Winds: Light and variable in the west; westerlies 3–4 Beaufort in the east, locally 5 Beaufort in the south early in the day.

Temperature: Slight rise.

Northern mainland: 14–16°C

Western & central mainland: 16–18°C

Southern mainland: up to 19°C

Eastern & southern islands: 19–21°C

Partly cloudy, at times denser in the west, with light local rain in the Ionian from midday.

Visibility locally limited in the morning and evening, especially inland.

Winds: Light and variable; in the Ionian, southeast 3–4 Beaufort, rising to 5 Beaufort in the north Ionian at night.

Temperature: Slight rise in the west.

FORECAST FOR WEDNESDAY 03-12-2025

Clouds increasing over the Ionian initially, spreading gradually to the rest of the west, central, and southern areas, with local rain and isolated thunderstorms mainly in the Ionian. Rainfall will intensify in the west and south from the afternoon.

Morning visibility locally limited on the mainland.

Winds: East-southeast 3–5 Beaufort, 5–6 Beaufort in the Ionian.

Temperature: Little change.

Widespread cloud cover with local rain and scattered thunderstorms initially in the west, central, and southern regions, gradually affecting the rest of the country.

Winds: Southeast 4–6 Beaufort, temporarily 7 Beaufort in the seas.
