Public Transport: How Metro, Buses, and Trams Will Operate During Christmas

What changes will occur in public transport on December 25th and 26th due to Christmas.

The schedules of public transport in Athens will be slightly modified due to Christmas. Specifically, the Metro, Tram, ISAP (Electric Railway), and buses will operate according to the Sunday and holiday schedule on Christmas Day and Friday, December 26th, meaning there will be fewer services.
In addition to the holiday schedule, starting from Tuesday (December 23), some bus routes will be temporarily altered due to works and events.

- City Center – Airport (Tuesday, December 23): Lines 400 and X95, temporary modification from 01:00–05:00.
- Elefsina (Tuesday, December 23): Line 862, route change from 08:00–15:00 due to technical works on Thiron Street.
- Agii Anargyroi – Kamatero (December 25): Line 704, temporary modification from 11:00–14:00.
- Piraeus (December 25 & 27): Line 826, temporary route change from 07:00–15:00 due to works on Patras Street.
According to STASY, on Sunday, December 28, up to three additional trains will be added to each of the three Metro lines to facilitate passenger movement.
