More specifically, on the Attiki Odos the increase amounts to 5 cents informing, with the toll rising from €2.50 to €2.55 for standard private passenger vehicles. In more detail:

Tolls on the Egnatia Odos

Toll charges on the road axis connecting Igoumenitsa with Kipoi in Evros and its vertical axes will be adjusted to €0.04 per kilometre (plus VAT). At the same time, free passage will remain in force for a period of two years, exclusively for permanent residents living within the geographical boundaries of the Egnatia Odos corridor.

The total cost for a private passenger vehicle travelling from Igoumenitsa to Kipoi in Evros, passing through all main toll stations, will rise to €30.45, up from €24.45 today. It is noted that the discount subscription programmes of the EgnatiaPass service will be discontinued.

Given that the motorway is currently in particularly poor condition, the concessionaire of the Egnatia Odos, the GEK TERNA – Egis Projects consortium, is expected to implement temporary traffic measures, prioritising tunnels that have not been licensed by the Tunnels Administrative Authority, with the aim of ensuring safe passage for drivers.

Tunnels affected by lane closures

According to available information, in the following tunnels with a length exceeding 500 metres, one traffic lane will be closed:

Vasilikou, S2 Mesovouniou & S3 Grikas, Neochoriou, S1 Selianis & S2 Paramythias, S1N Agios Nikolaos, S2 Sellon – Agia Anastasia, Dodoni, Driskos, T8 Dematiou, Anthochoriou, Votonosiou, Dyo Koryfon, Krimnou, Kalamion, Aniliou, Metsovou, Kostarakou, S1 Panagias, S2 Syrtou, S2 Agnanterou & S3 Prionia, S4 Velanidion, S8 Koilomatos, S9 Karatza, S1 Venetiku, S13 Polymylou, S12, S11, S10 Vermiou, S1 Verias, Symvolou, Ieropigis, and Krystallopigis.

At the same time, all tunnels will be placed under a special regime of enhanced and intensive patrols, with patrol vehicles operating exclusively in the affected sections. Fire safety standby teams will also be stationed at designated points at tunnel entrances, ready to respond immediately to any incident.

According to informed sources, since rehabilitation and heavy maintenance works will be carried out while the motorway remains fully operational, the primary objective of the targeted traffic measures is to maximize safety during transit and minimize disruption to drivers as much as possible.
