Three Metro stations to close earlier – Last train services

Work to replace railway tracks and install a 5G network on the Athens Metro is continuing. Following the completion of technical works on the “Dafni – Neos Kosmos” section, operations are now moving to the “Syngrou Fix – Neos Kosmos – Agios Ioannis” section, where temporary traffic arrangements will be in place during nighttime hours.
Specifically, according to an announcement by STASY, the stations Syngrou Fix, Neos Kosmos, and Agios Ioannis will close at 9:40 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday, around two and a half hours earlier than the regular end of service. Works on this section begin today, Sunday, 11 January, and are scheduled to continue until 21 February.
During the hours when works are carried out, Metro Line 2 (Anthoupoli – Elliniko) will operate on the sections Anthoupoli – Akropoli and Elliniko – Dafni.
What time will the last trains depart before the closure of the three stations
The last train departures before the early closure of the three Metro stations will be as follows:
from Syntagma to Elliniko at 21:40,
from Akropoli to Elliniko at 21:41,
from Akropoli to Anthoupoli at 21:54,
from Dafni to Elliniko at 21:47,
from Dafni to Anthoupoli at 21:48,
from Syngrou Fix to Elliniko at 21:43,
from Syngrou Fix to Anthoupoli at 21:53,
from Agios Ioannis to Elliniko at 21:45,
from Agios Ioannis to Anthoupoli at 21:50,
from Neos Kosmos to Elliniko at 21:44, and
from Neos Kosmos to Anthoupoli at 21:51.
To serve passengers along the “Syngrou Fix – Neos Kosmos – Agios Ioannis” section, OASA is introducing a temporary circular bus line, X10 “SYNTAGMA – DAFNI STATION”, which will cover the closed Metro stations Syngrou Fix, Neos Kosmos, and Agios Ioannis.
The starting point will be on Amalias Avenue, at the existing “Zappeio” bus stop.
The route will operate with the following stops:

Syntagma (existing stop on Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, Zappeio),
Akropoli stop (new temporary stop on Vasilissis Amalias Avenue),
Fix stop (existing stop on Athanasiou Diakou Street, named Syngrou),
Agios Ioannis stop (existing stop on Vouliagmenis Avenue, named Ag. Ioannis),
Dafni stop (on the central island of the terminal area, named Dafni Station).

At the same time, to better serve passengers, STASY will increase services on Tram Line 6 on the Syntagma – Neos Kosmos section from 21:30 until the end of service.
“We understand the inconvenience these traffic arrangements cause our passengers; however, they are necessary for the completion of these important projects, which will contribute to improving daily commuting,” STASY concludes in its announcement.
