Metro: Korydallos and Maniatika stations to close at 3:30 p.m. by order of the Hellenic Police

The Korydallos and Maniatika Metro stations will remain closed from 3:30 p.m. on Friday, September 18, as part of the measures being taken in connection with the events and demonstrations marking 13 years since the murder of Pavlos Fyssas.

According to an announcement by STASY, the two stations will be closed following an order by the Hellenic Police. From 3:30 p.m. until further notice, trains will pass through Korydallos and Maniatika without stopping.

STASY’s announcement states:

“We would like to inform passengers that today, Friday, September 18, following an order by the Hellenic Police, the Korydallos and Maniatika Metro stations will close at 3:30 p.m., and trains will pass through them without stopping.”

Rally at 5:30 p.m. in Keratsini

On this year’s sombre anniversary of the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, as in all previous years, thousands are expected to fill the streets of Piraeus and Nikaia, as well as those of several other cities, to raise their voices even louder with the slogan “No way we’ll be afraid”, particularly following the release from prison of leading Golden Dawn figure Ilias Kasidiaris.

Specifically in Athens, the main rally will take place today, Friday (18/09), at 5:30 p.m. at the memorial to antifascist musician Killah P in Keratsini, and will be followed by a march.
