Passengers on the Blue Line of the Athens Metro experienced significant disruption following a train malfunction. Service has now been fully restored.

A train operating on Line 3 of the Athens Metro suffered a technical failure on Monday morning (29/12).
The train, which was running on the route toward the airport, came to a standstill inside a tunnel and had to be towed.
After some time, normal service was restored on Line 3.
The disruption mainly affected the Airport – Doukissis Plakentias – Dimotiko Theatro route, with delays exceeding half an hour.
Delays were also reported on services running from Dimotiko Theatro toward Doukissis Plakentias and the airport.
