Authorities are investigating a complaint of child endangerment against staff of a day care and respite center for people with disabilities in eastern Thessaloniki, following the incident involving the 17-year-old girl.
According to reports from the Hellenic Press Agency (APE), the 52-year-old mother filed a complaint yesterday afternoon with the Department for the Investigation and Resolution of Crimes in Thermaikos. She stated that her daughter boarded a bus operated by the center to transport people with disabilities to her destination.
However, the staff allegedly failed to ensure she was transferred at a designated stop to a second bus that would take her to her final destination. As a result, the 17-year-old remained on the bus for approximately two hours without being noticed by the accompanying staff or transport personnel. The mother, realizing that her daughter had not arrived at her destination, contacted the police and filed charges against the employees involved.
A police investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances under which the teenager remained on the bus.
