A chocolate face which has been printed using the world's first ever chocolate 3D printer, at the Innovation Centre at the Exeter University in Devon. Chocoholics who are still not sick of the choccies this Christmas can now get their face made out of their fave treat - with the world's first 3D CHOCOLATE printer. See swns story SWCHOC. A firm called 'Choc Edge' has designed the state-of-the-art machine which allows users to build any 2D or 3D shape out of delicious Belgian chocolate. Customers can send an image of themselves through the company's website and the machine creates a thick layered portrait - like a mask - for between £50 to £80. There is also a cheaper version - the machine will produce a 2D portrait on edible rice paper for £24.99. The company was set up in 2011 by Dr Liang Hao of the University of Exeter in Devon and has since sold the machines to companies across the globe. The unique machine - Choc Creator - works by squirting out chocolate and, via computer instructions, allowing the user to build any shape they like out of the food. The innovative machine, which can print layers of dark, milk or white chocolate onto any flat surface including cakes and biscuits, creates a number of versatile shapes, designs and logos.
